Lots of stuff in this issue! So much that I had to split it into two posts!
There are some great Tim/Alfred moments in this issue. Alfred is the backbone of the Batfamily; he’s the one who holds them all together. He’s struggling with Cass’s adoption into the family, and isn’t afraid to tell Tim so, but he’s also willing to give her the benefit of a doubt.
Tim and Alfred also discuss Tim’s relationship with Jack. Although there’s really not much that either of them can do, Alfred is at least willing to lend a commiserating ear.
Meanwhile, Jack is stressing out about Tim’s disappearance. He’s worried, and rightly so. He tells Dana that when Tim gets back there will be pretty significant changes in the way that he treats Tim. We will definitely see the fallout of this in issues to come.
Tim also looks to Dick and Barbara for advice about dealing with his dad. It’s nice to see the relationship between them; Dick and Barbara are like the older siblings Tim never had.
And, finally, Steph has agreed to stop being Spoiler. Barbara helped Tim set up an email account for them to communicate through, and she lets him know that her mom has grounded her.
